    • P235GH → P355GH: Increasing carbon/manganese content enhances strength but reduces weldability

    • Yield strength increases by ~50% from P235GH to P355GH

  2. Weldability Considerations

    • P235GH: Best weldability (lowest carbon equivalent = ~0.35)

    • P355GH: Requires preheat (>75°C) for thick sections (CE ~0.45)

    • All grades require post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) for thicknesses >35mm

  3. Temperature Limitations

    • P235GH/P265GH: Not recommended for service >400°C (graphitization risk)

    • For >450°C service, consider 13CrMo4-5 (EN 10216-2) alloy steel

  4. Impact Testing

    • "GH" suffix indicates suitability for elevated temperatures

    • "NL" grades (e.g., P355NL) are Charpy tested at -50°C for low-temp service
