Standard Material

• SA179: It is made of low - carbon steel, which is easy to form and shape2. It has good ductility and certain strength, and can resist a certain degree of wear and tear4.
• SA192: High - quality carbon steel is used, which can meet the requirements of high - pressure service3. It has high - temperature and high - pressure resistance, and is suitable for use in boiler systems and superheaters3.
• SA210: Medium - carbon steel is adopted, which has higher strength and hardness than SA179 and SA192, and can bear higher pressure and temperature.

Size

• Outer Diameter: For SA179, SA192, and SA210, the common outer diameter range is 1/2 - 7 inches (12.7 - 177.8 mm). However, the size range of SA179 may also include 1/4 - 8 inches (6.25 - 203 mm) in some cases.
• Wall Thickness: The wall thickness is generally in the range of 0.085 - 1.000 inches (2.2 - 25.4 mm). The minimum wall thickness at any point or end of the tube shall not be less than 12.5% of the nominal thickness specified.
• Length: The maximum length is usually 15,000 mm, but for some special requirements, the length can be extended to 27,000 mm.

Chemical Composition

• SA179 and SA192: The carbon content is 0.06 - 0.18%, the manganese content is 0.27 - 0.63%, and the contents of phosphorus, sulfur, and silicon are all ≤ 0.035%, ≤ 0.035%, and ≤ 0.25% respectively.
• SA210: The chemical composition requirements are similar to those of SA179 and SA192, but there may be some differences in specific content ranges.

Packaging

• The tubes are usually packaged in wooden boxes, crates, cartons, or cases4. They can also be packaged with spiral - wound paper tubes, on pallets with cores, or individually wrapped with stretch film4. Appropriate accessories are included to reduce installation time and costs4.

Use

• SA179: It is mainly used for tubular heat exchangers, condensers, and other similar heat transfer equipment, as well as for low - pressure and medium - pressure boiler applications.
• SA192: It is applicable to high - pressure boiler systems and superheaters, such as those in coal - fired, thermal, and oil - fired power generation plants, as well as in marine applications, refineries, paper pulping, petrochemical applications, pressure vessels, and general engineering applications3.
• SA210: It is used for seamless carbon steel boiler and superheater tubes in high - pressure service, and is often used in high - temperature and high - pressure boiler components.

Inspection Method

• Mechanical Property Testing: Tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation tests are carried out to ensure that the mechanical properties of the tubes meet the standards3.
• Hardness Test: The hardness of the tubes is measured to check if they have the appropriate hardness for the intended use4.

Coating

• Generally, these seamless carbon steel boiler tubes do not have a special coating. However, in some cases, according to the specific use environment and customer requirements, they may be coated with anti - corrosion coatings such as zinc - plating or painting to improve their corrosion resistance.
