    • Random (3-7 m), cut-to-length, or custom (e.g., 6 m standard for heat exchangers).
  • Tolerances:
    • OD: ±1% (for OD ≤ 12") or ±0.010" (for OD > 12"); wall thickness: ±10% (ASTM A789 Table 2).

Manufacturing & Heat Treatment

  1. Seamless Process:
    • Hot Piercing: Billets heated to 1100-1200°C, pierced by a mandrel to form a hollow shell.
    • Cold Working: Drawn through dies to refine OD and wall thickness (e.g., cold-drawn, cold-extruded).
    • Heat Treatment: Solution annealing (1010-1120°C, water-quenched) to restore austenitic structure and corrosion resistance.
  2. Welded Tubes (not covered here but relevant to standard):
    • ERW with weld bead removal; optional post-weld annealing for critical applications.


Surface Finishes & Testing

  • Mill Finish (AP): Annealed and pickled, suitable for general industrial use.

  • Testing Requirements:
