What is ASME SA249 Finned Tube?
The fins are wrapped around the tube and held in place at both ends. Gives some surface protection to the tube. Used for medium temperature cooling applications.Tension wound finned tubes are formed by winding strips made of aluminum or copper around the tube under tension. The strip winding technology offers different types of fins: L-Fins, LL-Fins, KL-Fins.
Embedded fins (G-Fins) are formed by winding aluminum or copper strips into spiral grooves machined into the outer surface of the tube.
Extruded finned tubes are bimetallic tubes with fins formed on the outer surface of the aluminum by cold plastic deformation.
