Different piping systems across different industries have different requirements, in terms of their functions. For instance, if a change in directional flow is required, an elbow could be used. Usually, the ASME SB366 400 Elbow is such a fitting that could be manufactured either in the more conventional angle or it could be tailor made for a particular industry. Conventionally, elbow fittings are constructed in a 22.5 degree, 90 degree or a 45 degree angle. In order to produce these high performance nickel-copper based fittings, manufacturers use ASTM standards, which in this case is the ASTM B366. While the Monel 400 Pipe Fittings covers the use of shaping or forging operations such as extruding, upsetting, rolling, hammering, pressing, piercing, bending, and fusion welding, the specification also touches base with other important aspects of fitting manufacture.
