What is monel 400?
Monel400 alloy (UNS NO4400 or MCu-28-1.5-1.8 or Ni68Cu28Fe) is a nickel-based alloy material with good corrosion resistance in seawater, chemical solvents, ammonia, sulfur, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, and a variety of acidic mediums, such as sulfuric acid, organic acids, alkaline mediums, salts and molten salts. This alloy has a strong, corrosion-resistant comprehensive performance, widely used in chemical and other industries. For example, it is used in the manufacture of heaters, heat exchangers, evaporators, distillation kettles, distillation towers, condensers for fatty acid treatment, equipment for the treatment of rosin-tinged acid, chemical pumps and so on. As the alloy also has high strength and good oxidation resistance at high temperatures, it can also be used in the heat treatment industry, manufacturing a variety of structural components. In the nuclear power industry, the alloy has good corrosion resistance to high temperature and high pressure water.
Cold rolling is a plastic deformation process, which is characterized by high dimensional accuracy, internal surface finish, and has high mechanical properties.LG60 in the rolling of Monel400, the surface of the pipe locally appeared spiral defects, resulting in reduced productivity, yield reduction, to the latter order of pipe rolling also brought about a negative impact. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the grinding process to eliminate the defect.
